Report Says 76,988 L-1 US Visas Issued During 2019

Multinational companies use the L-1 visa to move essential employees from offices overseas to the United States

The L-1 visa is a nonimmigrant temporary visa, allowing businesses to bring employees temporarily to the US if they were employed by the company for at least one year overseas. The government program permits petitions by US employers only for executives and managers who may be admitted for up to seven years or specialized knowledge employees who can reside in the country for five years. The L-1 visa allows spouses and minor children to travel to the US, and the spouse is permitted to work.
